Converting between Celsius, Fahrenheit and Kelvin temperatures can be a tricky matter unless you have memorized the different temperature conversion formulas. If you have trouble committing the four formulas to memory, try making a temperature conversion chart. State each formula on the chart and provide sample conversions in a neatly formatted table.
Instructions
- 1
Open a blank document in any graphics presentation software. Click within the title placeholder and type, "Temperature Conversion Chart."
2Position the cursor on the drawing tool bar and choose the Clip Art icon. Choose a thermometer among the photographs and then click, drag and drop it to the blank document. Size it so that it runs almost the full length of the document.
3Imagine the document is divided into thirds lengthwise. Move the thermometer photo to the far left third of the page. Insert a table with three columns and fifteen rows. Title the columns "Celsius," "Fahrenheit" and "Kelvin."
4Begin with the "Celsius" column. In increments of 10 add numbers ranging from 110 to -30 at the bottom. Move to the "Fahrenheit" column and start with 230 in the first row and continue numbering down to -22 in the last row. Calculate the numbers in increments of 8.
5Prepare numbers for the "Kelvin" column. The first number should be 383 and the last number should be 243. Each row must show numbers in increments of 10.
6Insert a rectangle in the first third of the document. Click within the rectangle and type, "Temperature Conversion." Beneath the title, type the following four formulas: 1. Celsius (C) to Fahrenheit (F): F=(Cx9/5)+32; 2. Fahrenheit to Celsius: C=(F-32)x5/9; 3. Celsius to Kelvin (K): K=C+273; 4. Kelvin to Celsius: C=K-273."
